this weekend was great.
Now back to the grind… Got a website to finish and pictures to edit.
Jesse took off thursday, friday, and today. We had Esther and Curtis over for lunch on thanksgiving.. was a super simple lunch but tons of funs and the kids of course had a blast playing with theirs.
I stayed up all night thursday doing black friday shopping (and the lack of sleep is STILL kicking me in the booty).. but got some awesome deals and have birthday gifts bought for all next year LOL. Friday we slept in (which meant I got 2 hours of sleep) and then took the kids to the park for a picnic and let them play.. went home and played mario cart with them and just lazed around. Today we slept in again, ate pancakes for lunch and then went to the thanksgiving fair at homestead heritage. That was a blast! I’m hoping we can start doing it every year.
So… fun weekend! We have a church dinner tomorrow and I put off making my dessert until now.. and just realized I’m out of butter. Looks like a trip to walmart is in my VERY near future.
We had the family over on Sunday for my mom’s birthday.
Happy Birthday Mom!!
And.. Valerie finished the mural in Rohan’s room today.. isn’t it awesome?
Rohan turned 2 yesterday
We had his and Lorien’s party last night. They had a BLAST. The house isn’t quite recovered still though LOL (mainly cause I have no more trashbags and there’s ALOT of trash to pick up)

So, I got Brianna this dress at goodwill today..

Both Brianna and I thought the bodice and sleeves were ugly. So, I made a jumper out of it. I love how it turned out! Now I just need to find a shirt to put under it so she can actually wear it somewhere LOL

and the flower I made for the back.. out of the sleeves from the old dress and the leaves from the little collar..

So, I found a cheaper childs sewing machine, got it home and realized it was such a piece of junk it wasn’t worth the effort. I took it back and started a search for a used machine. I guess not many people #1- sew much anymore, and #2- don’t get rid of their machines once they do.. because every machine I could find was at least $60 or seemed like it didn’t work well, or something else was the matter with it. So. I put a ad on freecycle for a wanted sewing machine. Never really thought I would get a reply! I get rid of alot of stuff on freecycle but it’s stuff like big bags of clothes we don’t need anymore, kids toys I’m clearing out, etc.. I hardly ever see or get rid of big stuff on there. Much to my surprise and Brianna’s delight someone replied to it. I meet her in town today and picked up the machine.. and she even included a big box of good size scraps! Plenty big enough for some pillowcases, some doll size quilts, some barbie clothes, that sort of thing

working on her first project…. think she’s got a good enough seam allowance? LOL She’s already improved alot at watching that edge and trying to keep it lined up with the line marking.

Stuffing her first project.. I had a full bag of stuffing in the cabinet.. not sure what I bought it for LOL

and the project?? She made the DOG something!! LOL. I found this dog house at goodwill this afternoon. I’ve been looking at garage sales and such for awhile but hadn’t seen a small one anywhere. This one’s a perfect size for Buster.

Checking it out..

The dog in question.
I think I’m about to go give him a bath and a haircut.. he’s looking pathetic! I was going to let it grow out some for winter but think he needs one more good trim before it gets cool.

I just realized this is the first thing I’ve got for myself off freecycle! Before Kimberly got married I did really well and found her some nice stuff off of there.. ever since then I’ve just got rid of stuff.. although I do kinda regret getting rid of all Rohan’s baby boy clothes on there a few months ago.. back when we thought we didn’t want more kids! (no I’m not expecting.. just changing my tune on 3 kids being all we needed

So, first off.. Rohan and Lorien’s birthday party was supposed to be this friday. However, since my sister’s baby is being a naughty little child and has STILL not tried to make an appearance (at 8 days over due.. naughty little baby!!) I’m postponing the party until next friday. So if you were supposed to come it will be friday the 20th instead of this week. Same time and place.. just later. It falls on Rohan’s birthday though so that’s cool.
And.. on Lorien’s birthday (the 9th) she picked the agenda for the day. We went to McDonalds for lunch (GAG) and she got a kids meal and then played on the playground for about 2 hours.
My mom and dad meet us for lunch and my mom stayed the entire time.. helped save me from boredom LOL . We then had burgers and fries at home for dinner and I made her a quick little birthday cake.

and by quick I do mean quick LOL.. please don’t judge my limited cake decorating skills by this LOL. Brianna has a cooking set that is all kid size things but totally funcional. I used the mini cookie sheet, 6 table spoons of cake mix and some milk.. a can of cream cheese icing I had in the pantry, a ziploc w/ the corner cut out, some green food coloring, and some pez candies. LOL. She loved it though!

I’ve got this pattern cut out ready to sew up.. looks easy and sweet.
I found some cute vintage type fabric on the sale rack at a local fabric store..

and that’s all the pictures I got. My camera battery ran out after just a few min’s so I didn’t get a chance to get more. We went w/ my mom and sisters and had a blast

Lorien turned 4 this morning! She’s growing up so fast! In so many ways she still seems like the baby of the family.

(for the more recent readers.. this next one was her haircut she gave herself)
