Apparently.. even if you have NEVER IN YOUR LIFE watched Hannah Montana.. and to be honest, don’t have a clue who she is.. you can still think she’s cool.   The joy’s of having a 5 year old.   She’s never seen hannah montana.. and before she could read she didn’t even know who the girl was when I asked her to tell me who was on the cover of pretty much EVERYTHING in sight at Walmart.  But still… Brianna sings a song yesterday and tells me she’s singing like “hannah montana”.   WHY???   where does she pick up this stuff?  oh well… at this point and time she’s just repeating a name and doesn’t really know what she’s talking about I guess.

Busy day as usual

Mondays are always busy it seems.   Co-op and driving there and back really give us a full day.   I ended up getting groceries tonight as well but Jesse went with me so that was nice. :) \

Back to school tomorrow though.. (we take monday’s off since she has homeschool coop on monday’s)  last week went SO well I couldn’t believe it when Saturaday hit without one hitch all week long.  I’m finally starting to get on a better schedule.  Hopefully I can keep that up!   Brianna is doing really well with everything. :)    She likes math best.. but I like teaching reading best. :)   It’s so much fun to see her read things and know I taught her how to do that LOL.

Here is tomorrow’s reading so you can get an idea of what she’s doing.  (learn to read in 100 easy lessons)

a dog was in the fog.  a cat was in the fog.  a goat was in the fog.

the dog and the cat and the goat came to a log.

the cat and the dog sat on the log.

the dog and the cat said, “we are on a log.”

the goat said, “I am not on the log.  I am in the log. hehe.”

___________________________

very simple, alot of repeating sounds and words which makes it great because that sound imprints into their head and she remembers alot of these words now.  She’s also learned periods, question marks, and what quotation marks are.

In math tomorrow (right start math)

This is for Esther since we’ve been talking about diff. math programs :)

she will learn about ellipse and hexagon

how to fold those figures in half

she will cut out hexagons and learn how to arrange them so they fill up a space (like a honeycomb)

point out the horizontal lines in the hexagons

show how many sets of horizontal lines there are in hexagons (3)

REVIEW: ellipse

hexagons

rectangle

rhombas

… hand her a cut out ellipse, diamond, square, and triangle.. ask her to fold them in half so the sides are the same.  Tell her that is symmetry and discuss the meaning of symmetry.

Use our place value cards (just cards with the numbers on them 1, 2, 3, etc..  and review the ones place and the tens place.

3 addition and 2 subtraction word problems

When Leann, Evan, and Lillith came over today Leann brought the coolest picture.  She found it a few weeks ago and got it for me :)     I think I’m going to put it in the girls room over their bed.  Sorry for all the glares on the pictures glass.

oh, and it’s BIG.. this looks like it should be smaller in the pic. I took because of the work it would have taken but it’s a really big picture.  Wish I had the patience for stuff like that! :)

was today.  Molly did this months (I think we are going to trade back and forth)  It was so nice to not have to do as much this time around!  She asked me if I wanted to use her stuff or if I minded her getting stuff together.   I was like … are you kidding?    Feel FREE to do it LOL.  This week was SO busy it was great to have that one extra thing off my plate.. I just helped set up and the like.  The kids loved it.   I took several pictures so I’ll try and get those up later.   Jesse has my camera at the moment out at the house he is building.

I don’t usually hesitate to Spam my blog with stuff for other people.. (without being asked LOL) but don’t usually spam things I’m involved in.   However, this is something I really believe in and thought I’d go ahead and spam away on this one.

Also, if you are a photographer (you have to have a photography biz.) in the Waco area we could really use help.  I’m trying to get everything going with the hospitals and such and as I’m the only one in the area.. more would be greatly appreciated.

With the Month of October being recognized as Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month, The Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep Foundation holds its Annual Fund Drive for six weeks starting in mid-September and ending in October.
President Ronald Reagan enacted Proclamation 5890 in October of 1988 to recognize that each year, approximately a million pregnancies in the United States alone end in miscarriage, stillbirth, or the death of a newborn child.  Reagan stated, “A national observance offers us the opportunity to increase our understanding of the great tragedy involved in the deaths of unborn or newborn babies.  It also enables us to consider how, as individuals and communities, we can meet the needs of bereaved parents and family members… “  To read the full Proclamation signed by Reagan, CLICK HERE.

If you are in a place to make even a small contribution to NILMDTS, please know that doing so will continue to allow the organization to provide improved resources, training, communication, and other tools necessary in support of our amazing contingent of professional photographers who provide the gift of free remembrance portraiture to families in need.
Our next project we are working on is an online, interactive webinar version of our Formal NILMDTS Training taught by Co-Founder Sandy Puc’ allowing anyone in any country with access to a computer to complete the course online.  Donations help make programs like this a reality!
