I will be going to the Arlington homeschool book fair next week.. if anyone wants me to pick up a curriculum/ book or something to save shipping (plus they are sometimes a bit cheaper there) let me know and I will be more than happy to do it for you.   I’m going just me with no kids so I’ll be able to  haul alot around. :)

Well, Jesse sold his truck yesterday and bought a brand new white toyota tundra today. It’s so nice to have a 2nd vehicle we can all use! We also traded our little egg in for a 2005 Kia Sedona. Not fancy or anything (I do like the color though) but hey.. it’ll get the job done and it’s actually got room for me to put groceries in it now! :) (plus the dealership paid us to trade! LOL)

Then and Now..

Well.. we managed to pay our house off several months ago so we’ve slowly started decorating. I haven’t got to decorate a house like I wanted to ever so I’m really enjoying the process. :) Still got aways to go but we are having fun with it. And it’s amazing how much you can do cheaply with some spray paint, cans of paint and a goodwill nearby LOL.

So.. here is

The entry then..

and now..

Jesse’s office before..

and now.. (not near completion as you can see by the lack of wall art LOL)

The living then..

and now…

The dining room then..

and now..

The kitchen then..

and now..

The school room.. I don’t really have a before picture because it had changed so much. I had to put a big long folding table in there for the girls to sit at and there was pretty much just no room in their. Was SO cluttered..

so here is now..

I’ll take pictures of the girls room and ours tomorrow :) (Rohan’s room still looks the same)

My setting fee is being raised from $75 to $100.   Photo prices will remain the same!

However, if you already have a session booked your fee will remain the $75.  :)

Ate lunch with Momma and Kimberly.. went shopping for Daddy’s b-day gift, had my final eye exam before the lasik (scheduled for next friday!  yeah!), Brianna had piano lessons, and then we ate and went skating. :)     Next week is the final week of co-op this semester so that will free up my weeks a bit more in the future..

I’ve got a vow renewal and a family session this week so that should be fun.     I’m looking forward to seeing those 300 candles you guys are lighting!

In other news… if you’ve got an iphone.. did you know the kindle is now a free app on there?  LOVING that!

looking back at old pictures and it really saddens me to see that I missed what I should have done with my life.

It’s just so obvious..

looking at this picture how could I have ever considered being anything BUT a fashion designer?

Thought I’d share what we made in my cooking class today.. the kids all seemed to really enjoy it :)

Ice cream in a bag.   Fun to make and it takes less than 10 mins!

What you’ll need:

  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1/2 cup milk or half & half
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla
  • 6 tablespoons rock salt
  • 1 pint-size plastic food storage bag (e.g., Ziploc)
  • 1 gallon-size plastic food storage bag
  • Ice cubes

How to make it:

  1. Fill the large bag half full of ice, and add the rock salt. Seal the bag.
  2. Put milk, vanilla, and sugar into the small bag, and seal it.
  3. Place the small bag inside the large one, and seal it again carefully.
  4. Shake until the mixture is ice cream, which takes about 5 minutes.
  5. Wipe off the top of the small bag, then open it carefully. Enjoy!

Tips:

A 1/2 cup milk will make about 1 scoop of ice cream, so double the recipe if you want more. But don’t increase the proportions more that that — a large amount might be too big for kids to pick-up because the ice itself is heavy.
